Spurs in talks to beat Man Utd to signing of Brazilian forward on deadline day

Tottenham could be competing with Manchester United to sign an experience Brazilian goal scorer on deadline day.

It’s been a more exciting transfer window than most Tottenham fans will have been used to, and the excitement may be set to continue right until the last minute tomorrow, with the club searching for a new forward, following the significant hamstring injury to Harry Kane.

Spurs had been linked with Olivier Giroud, but that move appears to be unlikely at this stage. The club could now turn to Willian Jose of Real Sociedad. The tall striker is a reliable goal scorer and has netted 46 goals in his 113 games for Sociedad.

But any deal for Willian Jose will not be simple as it seems Real Sociedad may be trying to instigate a deadline day bidding war, with Sky Sports reporting that the Spanish club have offered their striker to Manchester United, with talks ongoing with Spurs.

But as Sky Sports report, any deal is likely to be a loan deal. However Sociedad will demand a fee for a temporary deal and if United are interested, then the fee they will demand is likely to be excessive.

Spurs have the likes of Lucas Moura and Son as options through the middle, but with the reported interest in Giroud and Willian Jose, it seems Jose Mourinho would like a more physical option through the middle.
