Despite currently being injured, Ross Barkley could still make a move to Tottenham this week as Pochettino attempts to scupper his rivals to the Everton midfielder’s signature. It’s clear he is not wanted by Koeman at Everton and with less than a year to run on his contract, it will be interesting to see how much it would take for Everton to just take the money and move on before the window shuts.

Having watched Ross Barkley on more than a few occasions last season, I have to say that I was less than impressed. The Englishman appeared 36 times in the Premier League for Everton, scoring five times and providing nine assists. To be fair to Pochettino, he is good at getting the best out of young players, and there is clearly raw talent in Barkley, but it needs to be worked on – can Pochettino turn Barkley into the player all England fans once hoped he would be?
