We are now a 11 days into the summer transfer window, and while other clubs have wasted no time in adding to their squads, Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs are yet to make their first signing. Here are three players that have been linked with a move to Spurs, and could join the Lilywhites in the coming weeks.
1) Kamil Gilk
Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to add to his squad over the summer, and reports have suggested that one of the areas the Argentine is looking to strengthen is in the defence, adding to the squad depth in particular
Kevin Wimmer is open to a move away from North London, and would leave Tottenham slightly lacking in the defensive department ahead of the new Premier League season. However, it seems that Spurs have a replacement lined up, according to French outlet L’Equipe.
They report that Pochettino is a huge admirer of Monaco centre-back Kamil Gilk and is extremely interested in bringing him to Hotspur Way. The French outlet point out that the deal will not be a simple one to get over the line.
The French club are likely to see a mass summer transfer window exodus as stars such as Thomas Lemar, Fabinho and Tiemoue Bakayoko could be seeking moves away. As a result, Monaco will not be willing to let Gilk go on the cheap.
Despite this, looking abroad might be the best way to go if Spurs are to add to their squad. Premier League prices are hugely inflated at the moment, and Spurs already know that they will have to fork out at least £25m if not more if they want to secure the services of either Ben Gibson or Alfie Mawson.
