Vincent Janssen will have been rubbing his hands together with excitement on Sunday evening having seen Harry Kane hobble off against Millwall as well as netted his first goal in a Spurs shirt from open play.
Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that Harry Kane’s injury in the opening stages of the 6-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over Millwall was very similar to the one the Englishman suffered back in September against September. In that instance, he was sidelined for two months with that particular injury.
Two months from now takes us to the final game on 13th May against Manchester United, which will be the final Premier League match at White Hart Lane (or will it be?). With that being the penultimate game of the Premier League, Kane would miss most of the rest of the season if his ankle injury of similar severity to the one last time earlier on this season.
Although nobody likes to see their teammates injured, Vincent Janssen might have been secretly jumping for joy after his fired himself into the mix for a starting spot, netting the fifth goal on Sunday afternoon. With Heung-min Son not being a recognised striker, you would think that the Dutchman would be next in line for a starting spot. However, this might not turn out to be the case.

These words from the Argentine boss seem to suggest that he will play Heung-min Son up front while Kane is sidelined with his ankle injury, just as he did a few times earlier on in the season when Kane was out.
This will come as a huge blow for struggling striker Vincent Janssen, who will have been looking to build on his first goal from open play in the 6-0 win over Millwall in the FA Cup with a starting spot in the absense of Harry Kane.
