‘Hope He Never Plays Again’ Spurs Fans Slam This Man Following Aston Villa Victory

Spurs booked their place in the FA Cup fourth round with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa at White Hart Lane, in what was an extremely uninspiring performance from the Lilywhites.

The first 45 minutes were up there with the worst halves of football I have ever seen as Villa seemed content to sit back and absorb any Spurs pressure that came there way. It was boring and dull, but effective for the visitors, who limited the hosts to few chances in the first period.

The game started to open up a bit in the second period as Villa started to play a little bit more positively. The game was also livened up with the introduction of the in-form Dele Alli in place of struggling striker Vincent Janssen on the hour mark. Spurs started to look better going forward, and just 51 seconds after coming on, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou was involved in the opening goal.

He received the ball from Dele Alli on the left, and whipped in a low cross that was behind Ben Davies, who managed to turn the ball into the back of the net to give Tottenham the lead.

The Lilywhites looked comfortable after the goal, and they doubled their lead nine minutes later. Heung-min Son with a tidy finish ten minutes from time to send Spurs into the fourth round of the FA Cup.

One player who disappointed yet again for Tottenham was front man Vincent Janssen. He struggled to get involved once again. He didn’t make the right runs, and whenever he did get the ball, he was slow to make decisions, losing possession more often than not. In the first half alone, the Dutchman was dispossessed seven times. Yes. Seven.

The 22-year-old summer signing’s search for his first goal from open play for Spurs goes on. While some remain paitent, others are labelling the striker Spurs’ worst ever player and calling for him to be sold in this January transfer window. Here is how Spurs fans reacted to Janssen’s display against Aston Villa.
