Unlike Harry Winks, who has jumped straight into the Spurs team and is now a regular figure in the side appearing from the bench, Josh Onomah has had a problem securing first team minutes under Mauricio Pochettino.

Onomah has been on the fringes of the Spurs side for the past couple of years, and it is clear to see that the youngster has a lot of talent and skill to offer to the side. If he was to make small improvements to his game. Decision making at times being one of them, he could become a force off the bench on a regular basis for Spurs.

Naturally, if given more game time at Tottenham, this would improve. However, first team opportunities might be few an far between, depending on what attitude Mauricio Pochettino has towards the FA Cup and the Europa League, which gets underway again in February.

I have watched Onomah a couple of times this season and in the game against Gillingham I was impressed with his display. But against Liverpool, I though he was poor. If Onomah wants more first team chances, he must take the chances he gets in the cup games, and he did not do so against Liverpool.

The next chance to impress Pochettino will most likely be on Sunday against Aston Villa, but I feel that it would benefit Onomah’s development if he were to move to another club temporarily.
