The Daily Express report that Spanish website Okdiario claim that Spurs along with a host of Premier League clubs are interested in signing Pepe in the New Year. Spurs collapsed defensively at the end of last season, shipping nine goals in the final three games against Chelsea, Southampton and Newcastle in the midst of title pain, and ended up finishing third behind bitter rivals Arsenal.

It seemed that the best defensive pair in the Premier League, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen crumbled under the pressure, and Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add experience to the defensive ranks at Spurs. In terms of experience, Pepe has been and done it all, and would be the perfect signing.

The Real Madrid star has won it all with the Spanish giants and is keen to find a new challenge, and Spurs would seem a side that have big ambitions. However, if the Lilywhites are to pull this deal off, they would have to beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City to his signature, who are all interested in Pepe’s services.

The Daily Mirror claim that Real Madrid midfielder Isco is unhappy with the amount of game time he is getting at the Santiago Bernabeu, and is keen on a move away from Madrid. Spurs could be ready to pounce in January as they look to land one of their long-term targets.

The Spaniard has played the full ninety minutes for Real Madrid just twice this season, and a move away would surely secure the talented playmaker more time out on the pitch. Despite making twelve appearances this season, it is thought that Isco would like to feature each and every week and for the full ninety minutes, something tat is not happening at Real Madrid.

If the Spanish international were to move to White Hart Lane in the New Year, would he slot straight into the team? That would depend on the form of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli as well as Heung-min Son. Erik Lamela will also be back soon from injury. Isco is a quality player that would fit in well at Spurs, and has shown he can make a difference at Real Madrid, providing three assists this season, creating 18 chances, making 15 key passes in his 12 La Liga appearances.
