Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored his first Premier League goal for Manchester United, which was good enough to see off a below-par Spurs at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs were nowhere near their best as they missed their opportunity to break into the top four ahead of Manchester United, who were beaten 4-2 yesterday at Leicester. Here are the Spurs player ratings from what was a poor performance against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

Hugo Lloris- 6

Not really much he could do about Mkhitaryan’s goal. The Armenian gave him no chance, but Lloris made some crucial saves both before and after the opening goal.

Kyle Walker- 6

Was involved in a very intriguing battle with Anthony Martial down the Spurs right, and he did manage to keep him quiet for most of the game, and defended solidly.

Toby Alderweireld- 6

It was good to see Toby back in the side for the full ninety minutes. He defended calmly, making a few crucial tackles at the back.

Jan Vertonghen- 6

Played in much the same way that Toby did. The pair of them did well to keep Zlatan Ibrahimovic quiet. A fairly solid display from the Belgian.

Danny Rose- 6

Failed to make too much of an impact for the same reason as Kyle Walker, he had a quick and dangerous runner against him. Defended well, and Mkhitaryan’s goal was far from his fault, he pushed high up the pitch as he is instructed to do, and it was unfortunate we lost the goal in midfield.

Victor Wanyama- 5

Did a good job at marking and out-strengthening Paul Pogba, but he did lose his man on a few occasions, and he went on to cause problems that the Spurs defence could have done without having to deal with. Missed that one golden opportunity that Spurs created to get something out of the game.

Mousa Dembele- 5

Would have liked to see Dembele make a few more of those penetrative runs that carves open defences. Not enough of that from him today, was substituted for Harry Winks in the second half.
