Lloris Contract Talks Stalling: 3 Potential Replacements For The French Stopper

Reports have suggested that Tottenham are struggling to get star goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to sign a new contract at White Hart Lane, with the Sunday Mirror claiming last week that the Frenchman’s fear that Spurs are unable to win trophies is preventing him from putting pen to paper.

The Sunderland goalkeeper has been in terrific form of late, and has attracted the interest of Spurs after a string of impressive performances in between the sticks for David Moyes’ side.

The Englishman has been called up recently to the England squad as a result of his terrific form, and has kept Sunderland in many games in the Premier League this season, making a number of key saves to keep Sunderland off the foot of the league.

Pickford has kept just the one clean sheet this term against Hull at the Stadium of Light, but considering the quality of the defence in front of him at Sunderland and Spurs, it could be assumed that Pickford would keep more clean sheets in North London with the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen defending in front of him. The 22-year-old makes on average 2.30 saves per goal, which is 0.2 more than French stopper Hugo Lloris.
