Swansea stayed strong for a large part of the first half, but the deadlock was broken six minutes before half-time when Dele Alli was brought down in the eighteen-yard box. Referee Jon Moss pointed to the spot, and Harry Kane stepped up to continue his outstanding goalsoring form.

Heung-min Son added to the Spurs lead just before the break, scoring a world-class half-volley, giving the keeper next to no chance as the Lilywhites went into half-time two goals to the good. Harry Kane added his second of the afternoon shortly after the break.

To finish of the rout at White Hart Lane, Christian Eriksen scored the fourth goal of the afternoon and then added a fifth during added time, Moussa Sissoko providing the assist for that one.

The Dane has now scored three goals in his last two Premier League games, and looking like he is starting to rediscover his best form. Eriksen created five chances in the ninety minutes as well as having seven shots on the Swansea goal.

In addition to this, the Dane completed 78% of his passes, made seven crosses as well as winning all of his aerial duels. This is how Spurs fans reacted on Twitter to Eriksen’s performance.

Eriksen has always been a key figure for Spurs, and had lost his way slightly this season prior to the last two games. The effect he has on the rest of the team is clear for all to see, and when Eriksen plays well, Tottenham play well. He will be a key player for Spurs if they are to make a push for the top four, or even more.
