3 Quality Signings Tottenham Could Complete Next Month

It’s been a distinctly average season for Tottenham so far, with a particularly poor showing in Europe seeing them crash out in the group stages of the Champions League in what was a very winnable group.

Why has this happened? Well, in my opinion there is no doubt that the fact the team have such poor quality in depth has impacted results on the pitch. Poor recruitment in the summer has also had a negative impact on the team whilst rivals have improved. The £30million signing of Moussa Sissoko becomes more bemusing with every week. To save the season, Tottenham need to invest in January, especially with Europa League football on the horizon – Pochettino will need a good squad. Here are three players Spurs should sign in January in my opinion…

1 – Julian Draxler

With the news that the German midfielder will not play for Wolfsburg again emerging this week, surely Tottenham should be in the mix to sign the talented German international? Aged 23, Draxler is at an age where his best years are still ahead of him, despite being on the scene for some time now. Although he is yet to reach his potential, I feel Draxler could become a very big player. It is no secret that the club are currently severely lacking creative midfielders and Draxler would bring creativity and more to the midfield. He’s a strong, tall player with plenty of guile and style. Despite being relatively young, he has been capped more than 25 times for Germany giving him experience on the international stage. With Wolfsburg banning the player from playing, Spurs are unlikely to be priced out of a move and with more chances of playing time than at other English clubs, Tottenham could have a realistic chance of landing this signing – it’s certainly worth a try!
