“I’m Sure Manchester United Will Be Looking At Him” Spurs Star On His Way?

Football pundit and former Arsenal man Ray Parlour has discussed the possibility of Spurs striker Harry Kane leaving Tottenham, and suggested that he would be the perfect signing for Premier League rivals Manchester United.

This comes after a report from The Sun claimed that Harry Kane had put contract talks on hold for a while, with Spurs keen to tie him down to a longer deal that extends beyond 2020, when his current deal expires.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Parlour said:

I’m sure Manchester United will be looking at him. They will be thinking ‘OK, Ibrahimovic is here at the moment but he’s getting on a bit – we might need a new striker soon’.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has not hit top form as yet despite a brace at Swansea last time out in the Premier League, but Jose Mourinho will be looking for these performances to be delivered on a more consistent basis going forward. The Swede is set to stay at United until the end of the season, but is unlikely to stay for much longer. Looking further into the future, Manchester United could indeed target Harry Kane.

The England international scored on his return from injury last week in the North London derby, and returned with a goal from the penalty spot as Spurs took a well deserved point away from the Emirates Stadium.

We have seen how influential and important Kane is to the Spurs side, making an instant impact last Sunday in the draw with Arsenal. Not only does he offer a strong goalscoring record, but he seems to have a positive impact on the whole team when he plays.

Kane would be a huge loss to Spurs if he were to leave, but it is unlikely that we will see Spurs let him go for a low price, or at all if a Premier League rival were to come in for him. It is clear to see that Mauricio Pochettino is building something special at Spurs, although recent performances may contradict that, but it would be borderline stupid if Tottenham were to let Harry Kane move on.
