5 Key Players That Could Sit Out Crucial West Ham Clash Through Injury

Spurs have not won in all competitions since the win against Manchester City before the October international break. The Lilywhites are currently five points off league leaders Liverpool, and a win against West Ham is of great importance to get back to winning ways and gain some momentum after a good point at Arsenal.

However, getting three points against an out-of-sorts West Ham side may be easier said than done, considering Spurs could be missing these five key players for the Premier League clash.

The Danish international has a lot more to offer for Spurs this season, but over the last few weeks has been putting in some very good displays. He created some good chances in the game against Arsenal, and could have even won the game himself.

But Spurs could be without the tricky midfielder for the West Ham clash with a knock he picked up on international duty. With Spurs in need of a win, Mauricio Pochettino’s men will miss the creative spark that he offers.

2) Toby Alderweireld

The Belgian defender has been out for over four weeks now, and was in contention to make the squad for the Arsenal game, with Pochettino stating that his recovery is just behind that of Harry Kane’s. However, two weeks after the return of Kane, Alderweireld might still be out and unavalible.

We saw Spurs set up with three at the back against Arsenal in the North London derby, and if Pochettino elects to do the same against West Ham, he will most likely have to select the same back three of Eric Dier, Kevin Wimmer and Jan Vertonghen.
