Transfers: 3 Top Players Tottenham Should Sign In January

Tottenham have started the season very well, with the undoubted highlight coming in last weekend’s hugely impressive 2-0 win against the previously unbeaten Manchester City and Pep Guardiola. Now, Pochettino is in charge of the only Premier League team that is still unbeaten, and positioned just a couple of points off the summit, the Argentine manager will be confident of another go at the Premier League title this season.

But as we know as Spurs fans, a good start doesn’t mean a good end, and the way the team collapsed last season was unforgiveable. Pochettino must ensure he strengthens the squad properly in January to ensure momentum is kept at a good level, especially considering the added fixture congestion from the Champions League this season.

The Spaniard continues to be on the periphery in Madrid and his ability is too high to be playing on the bench. With Tottenham performing well and playing in the Champions League, he could be temped to a move to White Hart Lane if more playing time was guaranteed. Isco has started just one game for Madrid this season, playing just 127 minutes of league football. Despite the good form of Lamela, Son and co. Tottenham cannot say no to a player of Isco’s calibre. Although he has faded into the background in in the glamour and glitz of Spain, he is an incredible player. I expect Madrid would consider bids in excess of £20million – in this market that is not a lot at all, and if he were to fulfil his potential, he would be worth around triple that in a couple of years. He’s only 24, extremely versatile and a player that is incredible on the ball. He’s certainly worth a try in January.
