Player Ratings- How Well Have The Spurs Players Performed So Far This Season?

Victor Wanyama- 7

Has settled in well at White Hart Lane, and has enjoyed a long run in the first team. Against City especially, Wanyama looked as if he had no problems at all playing in the defensive midfield position by himself in a 4-1-4-1. A solid start to the season, but I would like to see him be a little more confident on the ball and reduce the amount of times he gives it away.

Eric Dier- 7

Has also spent a little time on the sidelines, but returned for England over the international break. Dier has made a good start to the season, making strong tackles all over the pitch, but may face an uphill struggle to make himself a regular name on the teamsheet. Especially so if Pochettino makes the switch to 4-1-4-1 permanent.

Mousa Dembele- 7

The Belgian has made just two appearances this season, but has had a positive impact on both games, and has proved why he has been such a huge miss for Spurs since he picked up his suspension. We hope to see him back from injury soon and he clearly has so much more to offer for Spurs this season.

Erik Lamela- 7

Headed us towards a point on the opening day at Goodison Park, but hasn’t quite been at his best this season. He gave away the penalty against Liverpool and missed one against Manchester City, but has played a couple of fantastic balls through over the course of the season, and this cannot be forgotten. Still hasn’t reached top gear this season, and more to come this season for sure.

Moussa Sissoko- 6

Hasn’t quite played like a record-signing yet, but I am sure he will start to put in some better performances once he has settled in at White Hart Lane. From what we have seen of him, he looks a strong runner and somebody that can cause a huge threat. Again, like Lamela, we have far from seen the best of him so far this season.

Christian Eriksen- 7

A solid start to the season from Eriksen. He has sat out a couple of games this season, but Pochettino always seems to find a place for him in the tarting line-up, whether that is playing out on the left or in a more central position. The Dane has played well so far and I hope for more of the same after the international break.

Dele Alli- 8

Wherever Dele Alli has been asked to play this season, he has played there with great skill and quality. For me personally, he poses for more of a threat playing just behind the striker, but when he plays in a deeper role he still does an excellent job in there. A superb start to the season for Alli.

Heung-min Son- 9

The South Korean was on the verge of leaving the club in August, but he now arguably become Spurs’ player of the season so far. The attacker burst onto the scene after the Olympics with a marvellous double against Stoke, and since has bagged three more goals in all competitions. Long may his fabulous form continue.

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou- 6

We haven’t really seen too much of our new French signing since his arrival from Marseille, but from what I have seen he looks like a good player. Of course we will learn more the more he plays, but my first impressions of the Frenchman are good ones.
