Spurs could only pick up a point away at West Brom and missed the opportunity to go top of the table ahead of Manchester City. Nacer Chadli came back to haunt his own club and fired his new club into the lead in the 82nd minute, but Dele Alli managed to grab a late point to maintain Spurs’ unbeaten record in the league this campaign.
Despite picking up only a point, Victor Wanyama put in another excellent performance in the midfield as Pochettino decided to deploy the Kenyan in the defensive midfield by himself, setting up the team in a 4-1-4-1 formation.
Wanyama put in a strong performance against league leaders Manchester City a couple of weeks ago, and backed it up with another solid performance, making his £11m transfer fee look like an absolute bargain and is slowly making himself a crucial part of the Spurs team.
The Kenyan managed to complete 95% of his passes in the draw with West Brom, he also created two chances for his teammates. In addition to this, Wanyama complete two take-ons and won 86% of his aerial duels.
Here is how Spurs fans reacted to Wanyama’s midfield performance away at West Brom.
Have to say despite dropping 2 x poor points, both Wanyama & Walker standing out again today, unreal how Wanyama only cost 11m. #COYS#THFC

Wanyama has been superb so far. Strolls around the pitch, but knows exactly where to be, all the time. Spurs should be in front. #WBATOT
