Spurs struggled over the line at White Hart Lane today to beat Sunderland 1-0 courtesy of a second half Harry Kane goal, who capitalised on some poor defending from the Black Cats back line.
The visitors offered very little going forward in reality, but Spurs’ inability to kill of the game with a second goal set up a nervy last ten minutes or so.
Tottenham were not at their best by far, and failed to take advantage of the many chances that fell their way in the 1-0 win. The victory takes Spurs up to third place and maintains their unbeaten start to the Premier League season, picking up 11 points from five games along the way.
Injuries will be a worry for Mauricio Pochettino as he saw Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier and Harry Kane limp off, Dembele and Dier with hamstring problems and Harry Kane sustaining an ankle injury.
Spurs fans took to Twitter after the game to voice their opinions, and this is how they reacted to Spurs’ 1-0 win over Sunderland.
A good win & still yet to concede from open play this season in the perm. Son was outstanding. Praying the injuries aren’t bad!

Hope Dier, Kane and Moussa are ok. Good result 3 points. Unbeaten in the league. Only conceded 2. +6 goal difference. #COYS

Nervous win. Too many missed chances. Won’t get away with that against real opposition…Need to finish!

Good enough performance, definitely should’ve put one or two more of those chances away mind. Pickford had a stormer.

And the Spurs game was disappointing. The players don’t know what the word clinical means. This is why we lost to Monaco, but I take 3 points

3-0 wouldn’t have flattered us today. Son Heung-min outstanding, Dembele also really good before he too was withdrawn (cramp?).

1-0 or 5-0, a win is a win. It should’ve been more but it was a solid performance. Son was MOTM by an absolute mile. #COYS
