This kind of setup, again, has lots of pace and power, and if Janssen’s strengths are used to our advantage, then this combination could be very successful. We know that Nkoudou offers outstanding pace going down that left-hand side, and if Janssen holds the ball up effectively, the opportunity to play a neat ball through to the pacey left-winger is always on.

Alternatively, we know what gems of passes Dele Alli can come up with, if the ball is laid off to him, he can work wonders. Whether that be a through ball or a shot at goal, the Englishman is capable of working something very special.

This may not be the combination that Mauricio Pochettino would ever like to start a game with, and I get the feeling that this sort of combination would only be used if we were chasing the game or looking to add another attacking option, just like Pochettino did against Liverpool and Everton, bringing another striker on mid-game.

With Janssen holding up the ball well, many chances could be created for Harry Kane, and the same for Dele Alli and Moussa Sissoko on either flank.

Although at the moment Pochettino is unlikely to start with two strikers all the time, we saw him do it against Crystal Palace and could try the centre-forward partnership of Kane and Janssen again from the start of the game later on in the season.
