The Belgian international looked a completely different player last season when reinstalled into the first team by Mauricio Pochettino. His strength on the ball is just phenomenal and his ability to carry the ball up the pitch with such ease helps immensely with turning defence into attack as quickly and as efficiently as possibly.

Dembele is currently serving a six-game ban for the eye-gauge on Diego Costa in the game against Chelsea last season, but should be available for selection for our Champions League opener against Monaco at Wembley. I believe that the 29-year-old has been sorely missed from what we have seen in the first three games of the season, and I think that it is paramount that Dembele stays fit this season.

Finally, an interesting stat for you. Harry Kane has scored an impressive 24 goals in 27 games when Dembele has played, but has scored just a solitary goal in twelve games when Dembele hasn’t played. Maybe the return of Dembele will be the catalyst for Kane rediscovering his goalscoring form?
