The 3 Best Tottenham Players In 1-1 Draw vs. Everton

3 – Vincent Janssen

Albeit a substitute, Janssen injected fresh ideas into a stale Tottenham side on Saturday afternoon. The Spurs midfield had a lack of creativity but when Janssen came on it allowed Kane to drop a bit deeper and therefore create more for the team. Janssen’s running and positioning made him appear a threat and Everton certainly looked more troubled defensively after the Dutchman’s introduction. The 22-year-old’s presence in the box helped create space for Lamela’s goal. It is worth noting that Pochettino praised Janssen, noting that his introduction ‘made a difference’.

I’m sure I’m not the only fans that hopes Janssen starts the next game after Pochettino’s cautious approach at Goodison Park almost backfired completely. If it wasn’t for Stekelenburg then Janssen would have netted on his debut. I’m sure he won’t have to wait too long to net his first Premier League goal though, especially if he can work his way into the starting eleven.
