2 – Erik Lamela
One of the most underrated players in the division last season, Lamela has started this campaign as he means to go on, an impressive performance capped by the all-important equaliser. In a Tottenham midfield that lacked ideas, Lamela offered a rare creative spark on the right-hand side of midfield and the team looked more dangerous when he drifted inside. Could’ve netted a winner too after his deflected effort clipped the top of the bar with 10 minutes to go. As well as being the Man of the Match, Lamela notched up some other impressive statistics in this game. Lamela made 2 tackles, made 3 dribbles and took 3 shots on target. What was interesting was that all three of Lamela’s shots came inside of the box and perhaps that highlights a Pochettino instruction – to get into the box more often.
