3 – Erik Lamela
Lamela keeps improving and he makes our top 3 once again. The Argentine managed to make 5 key passes that helped unlock Palace numerous times and if it was for better finishing, he would’ve had an assist or two. When Dier and Wanyama play at the base of the Tottenham midfield there is extra pressure on the likes of Cristian Eriksen and Erik Lamela to deliver, and it is the former that is excelling so far. Playing in a wide role, Lamela attempted 8 crosses and was impressively accurate with 5 of them. Despite playing wide, Lamela took 72 touches and was one of Tottenham’s most prominent platers going forward. Frustratingly he was dispossessed 3 times and this lack of perfection still present in his dribbling is the reason why he was not 1 or 2 on our list this weekend, but there is huge potential for Erik if he continues to adjust to the Premier League and improve further.
