Rose had 85 touches on Saturday, more than any other Tottenham player. He is becoming a key part of how the team plays and it’s great to see. Often criticised for his defensive showings, Rose was a rock on Saturday. He made a huge 9 tackles, the next closest Tottenham player made 4 (Dier). On top of that he made 2 interceptions and 5 clearances. Nothing was going past Rose on Saturday and his performance helped ensure Tottenham picked up all three points by keeping the sheets clean. Rose made 46 passes, a huge amount for a full back with an impressive accuracy rate of over 80%. Going forward he attempted 6 long balls and was accurate with 5 of them. Now aged 26, it is good to see Rose establishing himself for both club and country. We need him to have another top season, the key test for Rose will come in the Champions League when he will potentially play against some of the best wingers in Europe. From how he’s developed in the last 18 months I’m sure he can continue to rise to the challenge and excel in that competition also.
