It is likely to be one or the other in terms of Gotze or Bolasie, so the Crystal Palace winger appears to be just a fall back option for now. With Alan Pardew securing the signing of Andros Townsend it is likely that Bolasie may be allowed to leave for the right price. The Daily Mail say Tottenham are interested, but they also say that Crystal Palace are asking for £28million for the winger – that’s about twice as much Gotze. Aside from his Premier League experience, there isn’t really a benefit of signing Bolasie over Gotze really. Of course they are different players, Bolasie is quicker and more direct – he is predominantly a winger, whereas Gotze excels with his interplay and can also play in a more central role. Ultimately it is up to Pocchettino to decide but surely the signing of Gotze makes more sense if it is one or the other, especially if they are to replace Son.
