2 – Georginio Wijnaldum
Newcastle are asking for £25million for the Dutchman, an amount that might scare off Pocchettino, but should it? He’s 25 years old and a very versatile player who can perform at a high level in a number of positions. Liverpool are also interested in making the signing of Wijnaldum, who was relegated with Newcastle last season, but still played well. Wijnaldum predominantly plays on the left, but can be used on the right with the advantage to cut in side; his versatility will certainly be an attraction to interested clubs with the player also capable of playing centrally. Wijnaldum can also play centrally and as soon as he gets the ball he wants to dribble, his impressive power on the flanks saw him manage 60.24% success take ons per 90 minutes. One thing that could be improved in Wijnaldum’s play is his final ball, although this could be worked on, he impressively managed to create 1.37 chances per 90 last season.
