Reports Link Tottenham With Completing These 5 Transfers

Tottenham’s window has been rather quiet so far, but reports have emerged in recent days suggesting that it is about to pick up pace. Mauricio Pochettino’s side came so close to winning the title last season, but ultimately finished in third place and with rivals strengthening again, it is important that Spurs keep up. Here are five transfers the club could complete in the coming weeks.

This one has popped out of nowhere. According to The Mirror Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund are leading the race to sign Mario Gotze. Earlier in the summer the German had committed his future Bayern Munich but Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear to the player that he is not in the clubs plans for next season. The 24-year-old needs to move to a club where he is appreciated and given the freedom to return to his best form. Whether that be to his former club Borussia Dortmund or Tottenham, it remains to be seen. Son Heung-min (also 24) has failed to set the Premier League on fire since his arrival and some reports have linked him with a move away. If Son were to move, it would open the door for Gotze to come in. Gotze, like Son, can play out wide, as a number 10 or as a striker.  This would make him the ideal replacement for Son and its likely that he wouldn’t really require much more of an investment with Bayern Munich reportedly setting an asking price of less than £15million for the World Cup winner. Worth a punt for the midfielder once dubbed the ‘new Messi’?
