N’Jie is set to join Marseille on loan as part of the deal taking N’Koudou to Tottenham. The young forward struggled to make a first team impact last season and with N’Koudou’s arrival, it looks even more unlikely that he will feature next season. Reports have even suggested that a medical has been completed.

N’Jie didn’t manage even one Premier League start last season and only came off the bench 8 times. Overall he played just 185 minutes and although that isn’t a lot of time to make his impact, he did struggle to do anything of note. You could say he hasn’t been given the chance, but you have to wonder why Pocchettino, who had been working with the player on a daily basis, did not reward him with more minutes.

N’Jie was one of a very limited amount of central striking options for Pocchettino last season, the club couldn’t afford to let him go in January despite interest. The arrival of Vincent Janssen has meant it is not longer essential for N’Jie to be in the squad. Jassen is set to be back up for Harry Kane next season and N’Jie has never looked likely to break into the team on the wing, even before N’Koudou’s arrival.

Will you be happy to see N’Jie go out on loan? Do you think he has a long-term future at the club? Comment with your thoughts below. Tottenham have reportedly agreed to a €7million buy clause, which may show that they don’t see N’Jie having a long-term future at the club.
