Mauricio Pochettino is expecting to complete the signings of more than just N’Koudou in the coming weeks.

The Tottenham manager has already signed Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen this summer, whilst N’Koudou looks set to complete his move from Marseille next week.

Speaking to press, Pochettino confirmed he intends to make more signings (emphasis on the ‘s’) in the coming weeks, interesting.

“I expect some signings in the next few weeks,” Pochettino said in Melbourne ahead of Friday’s friendly against Atletico Madrid in the International Champions Cup.

“We’ll see what happens. We expect some activity, yes.”

I’m not sure who the arrivals could possibly be. Of course N’Koudou looks likely to arrive but beyond that, it remains unclear. The manager said that he wasn’t searching for central defensive cover.

Trippier is being linked with a move away from the club and it’s very possible that he could be replaced with new signing. Finding someone happy to play second fiddle to Kyle Walker will be hard though, unless a player who can play in other positions as well is signed.

In terms of who that could be I’m not sure. No players of that ilk have been linked this summer, so it would be a surprise if the club did make an addition in that area.

Another to be linked is Mauro Icardi. The Inter Milan striker has been valued at £50million by Inter Milan. I can’t see Tottenham wanting to spend that much on a striker when they already have Kane and Janssen, unless the manager is plotting a formation change.

Icardi’s agent has previously said Tottenham were one of the clubs interested in their client, but as we know from the past, do not listen too much to what agents have to say.

If Spurs did fancy making a big move this summer though, Icardi would fit the profile. He’s a top quality young striker that would work well in Pochettino’s system. Perhaps Kane could play just behind him.

It would be great to see the faces of Arsenal fans if we went and signed Icardi, that would make it worth £50million alone (I’m joking). Seriously though it looks like Icardi is available and with few other names linked in the press recently, perhaps Pochettino has something up his sleeve?

With Pochettino saying he expects more signings, after N’Koudou, where do you think we need to invest and who do you think he has in mind? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
