The Frenchman has said previously that he is happy at White Hart Lane, and is currently in discussions with Daniel Levy over a new contract, discussions that Spurs will hope to get wrapped up shortly after the European Championships in France, although the stopper has three years left on his current deal.

Pochettino and Levy will be keen for Lloris to sign a new deal as soon as possible, to eliminate any uncertainty over the future of the keeper and to tell Madrid to keep their hands off the 29-year-old.

Lloris has become an extremely important component of the Spurs side since his £10m switch from Lyon, and he lived up to expectation last season, playing a crucial role in the Spurs title push conceding on average less than one goal per game in 37 appearances.
