2 – Spurs Set Sights On Jonas Hector (Express)
Good performances at the European Champions have brought with them interest from Wolfsburg, Liverpool and Tottenham, as they prepare for a transfer battle for the services of full-back Jonas Hector.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from Koln over this summer, but Spurs have now reportedly entered the race according to German publication Express along with Wolfsburg and Liverpool.
The German’s performances have attracted interest from the three clubs, and the Express claim that offers for the Koln man could break the £17m mark.
The left-back made 34 appearances for Koln last season, and if he was to complete a move to Spurs, then that could spell the end for either Danny Rose or Ben Davies, with a switch away more likely for the latter.
£17m seems to be a lot to fork out for a left-back, and that role is a role I feel that we have covered with Rose and Davies in the squad. For me, the money would be better spent on an attacking midfielder, or on a striker.
