England began their Euro 2016 campaign with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Russia in Marseille. Spurs midfielder Eric Dier looked to have grabbed the winning goal with a fantastic free-kick, but the Russians struck late to halt England celebrations.

Aside from the goal, there was more to Eric Dier’s performance against Russia, the stats show. The youngster completed 89% of his passes and won 100% tackles in a solid holding midfield performance.
