Vincent Janssen

The Mirror reported last week that Spurs had agreed a fee of £12m for Vincent Janssen, but a week on, and nothing more has developed, but interest reportedly still remains there from Spurs.

The 21-year-old had an absolutely sensational season for AZ Alkmaar last term, scoring 27 goals in 34 league games last season in the Dutch league, making him the top scorer.

The Mirror state that Pochettino along with all of his staff went to watch the Dutch man last week in an international friendly against Ireland, seemingly impressed with the striker, hence their reported interest in the youngster.

Spurs are set to face competition from Wolfsburg, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan in their pursuit for Janssen as Mauricio Pochettino continues his search for another striker to take the pressure off of Harry Kane ahead of the new season in August.

You can have no arguments against the striker’s goalscoring record in the Dutch league, but you would have to ask questions of whether a move away from his homeland would be the right move for the striker at 21 years of age.
