Saturday 8th August: Tottenham U18s 5-1 Brighton U18s

Our U18s got their season underway in emphatic style, beating Brighton 5-1 to give them the ideal start to the new campaign.

Ryan Loft scored the first of the goals, robbing the ball off keeper Robert Sanchez, and slotting the ball into the net after ten minutes. Zenon Stylianides headed us into a 2-0 lead with twenty minutes gone, taking full advantage of a Loft deflected shot.

Charlie Owens scored his first U18s Premier League goal just four minutes later to give us a 3-0 advantage. Jordan Maguire-Drew managed to pull a goal back for Brighton a minute before half-time, making it 3-1 at the break.

Kazaiah Sterling restored the three-goal lead just after half-time, getting on the end of a Joe Muscatt cross. The scoring was rounded off in added time by Samuel Shashoua, completing a successful morning at Hotspur Way.

Monday 10th August: Spurs U21s 4-1 Everton U21s

Hugo Lloris started in the U21s as he looks to regain full fitness ahead of a return to the first team, and was involved in an opening day win for our young stars.

Heavily involved in Brentford’s playoff finish last season, Alex Pritchard made his return to action at Spurs with a bang, opening the scoring with an unstoppable set piece after nineteen minutes.

Pritchard also scored our second goal of the day with a cool finish to double the Spurs advantage. Sam Byrne cut our lead two minutes before the break, slotting past Lloris to pull a goal back for Everton.

However, Everton were not able to complete the comeback as Nathan Oduwa hit back just a minute later to restore our two-goal cushion and a few minutes before time Shaq Coulthirst completed the win with a fourth goal.
