Spurs Set To Raise £23million From Sale Of Two Midfielders

Tottenham look set to sell midfield duo Paulinho and Etienne Capoue in the coming week and raise around £25million from doing so.

Paulinho is set to join Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrand for £14million whilst Etienne Capoue is close to sealing a £9million switch to Premier League newcomers Watford.

Capoue, a player who has been hampered by injuries whilst at the club – could be a good signing for Watford. There he would be the main man in midfield and not have to contend with others stellar signings like he did during his time at White Hart Lane.

I am a little bit sad to see both players leave, but mostly happy to see the back of them due to them under performing this season and their wages perhaps stopping us from completing other deals.

Also, the prices we are reportedly set to get for them are brilliant. £9million for Capoue would see us recoup what we paid, whilst Paulinho only joined for £3million more than the £14million we are set to receive. Considering both of them are being sold on the back of a poor season – Daniel Levy has once again done very well there.

I will not forget the fabulous start to Paulinho’s Spurs career, where he was scoring for fun – with many of the goals unforgettable.
