Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande have today confirmed that they have signed Tottenham midfielder Paulinho for a fee of £9.8m.
The midfielder will earn a lucrative £90,000 per-week at his new club after things went far from plan since his move to Spurs in the summer of 2013 for £17m from Brazil.
Daniel Levy has managed to recoup £9.8m from the transfer, meaning that the club lose just £7.2m from the original transfer just a couple of year ago, and fans believe that the chairman is a ‘genius’.
The move ends rumours of a move to Premier League new-boys Watford, despite the players not being keen on a move to Watford anyway and wanted a move abroad, which is exactly what he has got with a move to China.
Here is how the Spurs fans have reacted to Paulinho leaving the club.

Ok so Paulinho is gone, next out the door has to be Chiriches, closely followed by Kaboul and Capoue! #SellSellSell

#thfc Paulinho had his best game for some time in 3-1 win at Newcastle and didn’t start again. Probably a good idea. Nearly £10m recouped — Ben Pearce (@BenPearceSpurs) June 29, 2015
£10mil for Paulinho? Levy you genius 😂

Quite fitting that the first of the not so magnificent seven should be the first to depart. Thanks for everything and nothing, Paulinho. — Callum (@CallumHaymes) June 29, 2015
