February:

This was a month of both highs and lows. A North London derby win is just about the best feeling you can get as a Spurs fan, but then the month was ended with ninety minutes of pain in Fiorentina as we bowed out of the Europa League.

Tottenham 2-1 Arsenal

This was one of the high points and games of the season as we came from behind to win against our bitter North London rivals, and the win also moved us up the table and into fourth spot in the race for the Champions League.

There was an element of good fortune in Arsenal’s first goal as Mesut Ozil coverted the ball into the back of the net. However, Harry Kane scored a double to claim the three points and claim a massive North London derby win.

Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham

Despite losing the match 3-2 in the end, we showed great character and resilience to come back and level the scores twice after going behind, but a third time proved too much to ask as we were defeated at Anfield.

Lazar Markovic put the hosts ahead early on before Harry Kane levelled things up. Steven Gerrard gave Liverpool the advantage again before Mousa Dembele equalised again. However, it was Mario Balotelli who came up with the crucial goal for Liverpool seven minutes from time.

Tottenham 1-1 Fiorentina

It was clear from this game that Fiorentina came to White Hart Lane in the first leg of this Europa League tie to get a draw and then see what they could do in Italy in the second leg, They defended like mad and eventually grinded out a draw.

Roberto Soldado chipped in with a rare goal before the Italians equalised from a set piece midway through the first period. They then parked the bus and held out for a 1-1 draw.

Tottenham 2-2 West Ham

It was yet another eventful afternoon at White Hart Lane as we came from two goals behind to salvage a rather fortunate draw against our bitter London rivals.

Cheikhou Kouyate and Diafra Sakho gave West Ham a two goal lead and the three points looked to be heading their way until Danny Rose pulled one back with a shot into the ground that looped over the keeper. Then, deep into stoppage time Harry Kane followed up on his missed penalty to rescue a point.

Fiorentina 2-0 Tottenham

This was the game of ‘that’ pass from Roberto Soldado that could have potentially won us the tie. Erik Lamela slipped through a lovely ball for the Spaniard, who only had to tap the ball to Nacer Chadli, but misplaced his pass and the chance was gone.

That was the moment that changed the tie and in the second half poor defending was our downfall once again as goals from Mario Gomez and Mohamed Salah dumped us out of the Europa League. Here is how the table stood at the end of February.

Despite a couple of good results in the league, a loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford all but ended our hopes of making the Champions League in a month of disappointment.

Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham

We were a little unlucky to lose in the final at Wembley with two deflections deciding the outcome of the Capital One Cup final in Mauricio Pochettino’s first time at Wembley as Spurs head coach.

Christian Eriksen hit the crossbar early on but John Terry of all people gave Chelsea the lead on the stroke of half-time with a deflection off Eric Dier taking it away from Hugo Lloris. Diego Costa scored Chelsea’s second but a wicked deflection off Kyle Walker meant the ball found a way into the back of the net.

Tottenham 3-2 Swansea

We responded excellently from our cup final defeat with a solid 3-2 win over Swansea at White Hart Lane, with the game marking a first Premier League goal for midfielder Ryan Mason.

Nacer Chadli gave us the lead before Ki Sung-Yeung levelled shortly after. Ryan Mason restored our lead and Andros Townsend then added to it to make it 3-1. Gylfi Sigurdsson gave us a scare at the end to make it 3-2 but we held on for the win.

QPR 1-2 Tottenham

We made it two wins in two after our crushing cup final defeat tat Wembley to Chelsea with another solid win over QPR, and Harry Kane added to his goals tally again.

A Harry Kane double in the 34th and 68th minutes sealed us the three points, but we had some defending to do in the last fifteen minutes after Sandro reduced our lead to one. However, we held on for the win.

Manchester United 3-0 Tottenham

This game all but ended our hopes and aspirations of making the top four with one of the worst performances of the season at Old Trafford. The game was over in the first half and left fans devastated with the showing at Old Trafford.

Ashley Young destroyed Kyle Walker down United’s left hand side and Marouane Fellaini gave the hosts the lead after just nine minutes and United’s second and third were added by Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney by the 34th minute.

Tottenham 4-3 Leicester

It was a shambolic afternoon in the defensive ranks for Spurs on that afternoon as Leicester managed to put three past Michel Vorm, but still managed NOT to win the game.

Hugo Lloris was taken off early on in the match, and Michel Vorm was his replacement. Harry Kane scored a hat-trick and an own-goal from Jeffrey Schlupp cancelled out goals from Jamie Vardy, Wes Morgan and David Nugent.
