The Daily Mail claim that Tottenham sent scouts to watch Porto’s 3-1 win over Bayern Munich to specifically watch Jackson Martinez in the Champions League match.

Reports suggest that Manchester United along with Everton and Chelsea as well as Tottenham all sent scouts to watch Martinez in the Champions League, with the striker in big demand.

The striker was outstanding in the 3-1 win over Bayern Munich, and judging by previous reports, Martinez has been a long-term target for Spurs.

However, the signing of Martinez could set Tottenham back £30m, which falls outside Daniel Levy’s plans of making signings costing just £10m-£15m.

Mauricio Pochettino is a huge admirer of Everton midfielder Kevin Mirallas, and they could use Aaron Lennon as bait in order to lure the Toffees’ into selling up.

On-loan Lennon has kept the Belgian out of the starting eleven for the last few matches, and Everton are reportedly very interested in making his loan move permanent.

Pochettino has been pressing head of recruitment Paul Mitchell to get the deal done that would see Mirallas move to Spurs, and Lennon the other way.

Spurs rate Lennon at around £7m, while Everton rate the Belgian international at over double that price, and may force Tottenham to pay £8m plus Lennon to ensure the deal goes through.

Tottenham are set to go for another Premier League player in the summer transfer window, but they will have to go through the old boss to get him.

Spurs reportedly will make an attempt to sign Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, who Tim Sherwood currently manages, and will the former Spurs boss to his old club a favour?

Despite the excellent form of academy product Harry Kane, Mauricio Pochettino is still looking to bolster his attacking options with Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor both misfiring.

However, they will face competition from bitter London rivals West Ham for the Villa man’s signature, and it is tought that the Hammers are willing to pay £20m to secure her services.
