Tottenham Could Beat Two London Rivals To Defender’s Signature

The Telegraph claim that Tottenham are prepared to match West Ham defender Winston Reid’s wage demands, and could beat Arsenal and West Ham to his signature.

The current Hammers defender was left out of West Ham’s match day squad to face Everton in the FA Cup third round replay, fuelling speculation that the centre-back is set for a move away.

Reid’s contract runs out in the summer, and it is looking increasingly unlikely that the defender will sign another contract at West Ham.

Arsenal are also interested in the Englishman as they look to bolster their defensive options and improve what has been a rather leaky defence so far this season. Arsene Wenger is keen to get the deal done this month for around £3m.

Tottenham will also be looking to decrease the number of goals that they concede this season, with the defence looking a little shaky at some points.  The defender reportedly wants around £60,o00 per week in wages.
