Spurs Tempted To Make Bid For Ings And Why It Would Be A Good Move

It’s no secret that Spurs are in the market for a new striker to freshen up their front-line. With so much pressure to provide goals being placed on Harry Kane due to the misfiring performances of both Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, head coach Mauricio Pochettino is searching for a forward to share the load with Kane and who fits his high-pressing style.

One striker who’s been mentioned throughout is Burnley hitman Danny Ings. The 22 year old has found his feet quickly in the Premier League with 7 goals in 19 games in his debut season in the top division in England, it would appear Spurs have someone they need to boost their strike-force over the second-half of the season.

Spurs may be better to go after Ings now instead of waiting in the summer, for a couple of reasons, firstly, Ings is out of contract this summer so the fee Spurs will have to pay would be substantially lower now than in the summer. It’s been floated around that we’ve offered £5million to Burnley for his services, which in these day is very good value. Burnley will be in line to award Ings a bumper new contract if they stay up this season and Spurs don’t want to run the risk of being blown out of the water.

Another key reason is, of course, Harry Kane. Kane and Ings have formed a brilliant partnership in the England U21’s for a while now, so both know how to play alongside one another and how to get the best out of each other so it’s a very sensible decision. Very good price, he can hit the ground running quickly, Ings should be the answer.
