Spurs are looking to sign Villa left-back Aly Cissokho, despite Paul Lambert only signing him in the summer transfer window that came to a close just four months ago.
Napoli are the other club reportedly interested in signing the defensive ace, and it looks like Aston Villa will have to fight a winter January battle to keep hold of the signing that they snapped up in the summer.
Tottenham have no shortage of players in the left-back position, with Spurs making a left-back capture of their own in Ben Davies back in the summer.
If these reports have any truth to them, this would suggest that the North London club are looking to offload one of their left-backs, the most likely one being Danny Rose, although he signed a new improved deal in the summer window.
With no immediate interest from any Premier League rivals, you would have to think that they are targeting Cissokho purely for the ability that he has when getting forward, especially his crossing ability.
