Tottenham scraped through yet another game with a win on Thursday with a 1-0 victory over Partizan Belgrade. That win saw us through to the knockout stages of the Europa League. Next up, we face Everton back in the Premier League, as out home form will come into question again. Will Adebayor start? I don’t think so after his comments. Here is the team news and predicted line-up.

Team News:

Many people were ruled out of Thursday’s game, and that list is likely to stay the same for the clash with Everton. However, the only player out is Kyle Naughton through suspension, whilst Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Andros Townsend, Emmanuel Adebayor, Nacer Chadli and Etienne Capoue are all doubts, although some could start.

Predicted Lineup (4-2-3-1):

Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris:

It was a surprise that Michel Vorm didn’t start against Partizan Belgrade, but nevertheless, Lloris continued his fantastic form between the sticks, denying the visitors in the final few minutes to ensure that we held on for the 1-0 win.

Defence: Eric Dier, Jan Vertonghen, Younes Kaboul, Ben Davies:

With Danny Rose a doubt to feature in the starting eleven on Sunday, this will be a big afternoon for summer signing Ben Davies if the first-choice left-back is deemed not fit to start. After some good displays in the Europa League and Capital One Cup, he could get the chance to impress the boss in the Premier League. I expect Younes Kaboul to return to the starting lineup after a spell out and Jan Vertonghen could start again. I feel that Mauricio Pochettino will take the chance to rest Kyle Walker, and could start him in the Europa League in a couple of weeks, leaving Eric Dier at right-back for just a few more games.

Midfield (Holding): Mousa Dembele, Ryan Mason:

I have said it before, and I am going to say it again. Ryan Mason is a superb player. Not only does he do his defensive job as a holding midfielder, but he also can get forward at the right times to give the team another player in the attack. He would usually play with Etienne Capoue, but due to his poor form, I would start Mousa Dembele with him.

Midfield (Attacking): Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen Nacer Chadli:

Although he is a doubt, we need to have him on the pitch, and with his goalscoring form, he could well bag another on Sunday. With Erik Lamela, I think we just need to play him more, and eventually his goal will come. Once that first goal comes, I am sure that the floodgates will open for the young Argentine. With his excellent form, Christian Eriksen should also start.

Striker: Harry Kane:

Due to Soldado starting and playing the majority of the game in midweek, I feel that Harry Kane will start in place of both Abebayor. I can’t see anybody but him starting, especially after his goal last week in our 2-1 fightback win over Hull.
